Artist's Comments

I was in a mood to paint, so I whipped out my India ink and tried it out on some leftover paper from printmaking, I do not remember what it was called, but it's a very nice absorbent paper.
Naturally I painted my character/muse Neil, but then other characters from ~neo-origins popped up, so, I compiled this little piece of all my recent ink painting projects involving them.

In order of appearance top-down, left-right: Neil, Talvi, Faris, and Cier. (Neil appears more than once.)

I really like the pose and the different line weight on the standing Neil on the right.
I'm not too fond of his face in the middle (the one of him and Cier)

Oh well.
It was really fun. It's a bit different... I really like how freely the paper let the ink flow. I might try to do something more serious on this paper with ink in the future.

Thank you, I think?

I really like this style, it's very elegant, especially shadowy waving Neil. (lol, floating faces)

I was thinking of a painting of Freddie Mercury when I did the waving Neil. Hahaha... poor Neil and his masculinity being compromised by my crazy whims.
The floating faces are awesome!

nice work, very expressive! I especially like the two drawings on the right!

Thank you very much. Those two on the right were some of the "warm up" drawings that I really liked. I'm very happy you like them, too. :)

I like the deep shadows in the left three portraits a lot. They have a very dark and moody feel to them. I really like the subtle differences in the brush strokes between the three characters too. They really bring out their personalities. Neil has very fine, but harsh lines, Ceir has very soft looking ones, and Farris has courser lines. :)

:ohnoes: Crap. I meant Talvi, not Ceir.

Thanks! I didn't even think that much about the brushstrokes when doing the portraits, probably a subconscious thing. :P
