My take on Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince. Comments allowed on this one because I want to hear what you think.
Art is mine.
The Little Prince and characters/concepts are St. Exupery's.
EDIT: I changed the file up a little bit so that it's less saturated and has some more cooler tones so it's not so brown and overwhelmingly bright with warm tones.
Also, yes, I realize the Prince has a huge head, and his limbs are stick thin compared to a boxy body and off skew, this is all intentional to capture the whimsical feel of the story. I just thought I'd point that out because I've been getting a good amount of comments on the proportion. If the style doesn't do it for you, please tell me why.
Eh-heh. I know I have a "brown" or "warm" problem, never enough cool tones - I pushed myself to start doing more backgrounds, now I have to push myself to use more cooler colours. One step ata a time... But he's watching the sunset! Hehehe.
Awwh, thanks. x_x Unfortunately the image size of this is tiny but maybe in the future I'll blow it up and touch it up to use in a portfolio/for prints. That would be pretty awesome.
Very cute, from a distance I thought it was going to be a depiction of the Prince from Katamari Damacy. I adore his scarf, and the sun in the background. It's one of those pictures where I can't exactly place what I like, but I know it's just.. Gah!

A dry bone is a good feast.
i like your line work a lot. it's very easy on the eyes, and your style looks well developed.
not too crazy about all the brown. i know it's your own take on the character, but i think some brighter elements might be ok.
the colouring style is working for me though. you manage to maintain a bit of the flat cartoony style, but still slip in some gradients.
nice work ana.
